This weekend we had some great tuna action with Jason Hutt and crew from DC. On Friday we opted to look for Bluefin and found them from the low 900′s up to the 030. We caught a pair trolling first thing in the morning, one was 70 inches, the other 75 or better, then fished up a change until we found a big body of fish on the surface. We landed a 70 inch fish on a popping plug and had countless other strikes. On Saturday, we went looking again, but the Bluefin were very skittish, and we could never get in position to hook one. We did catch 2 yellowfin on poppers, and 5 trolling for the day.

We had a great day of yellowfin fishing on The Frenzy today. The Roy Williams group from Bath, NC, did a great job, landing 8 out of 8 nice yellowfin one time, and 5 out of 5 another. We have days open this week, so give me a call 252-216-9034.

This Spring I decided to haul out at Spencer Marine in Wanchese to do annual maintenance as well as repaint the hull and install new teak washboards. We spent a week in the yard, and 2 in the paint shed getting all of the work done. Thanks to Mike Stokes of Stokes Custom Boats for the all the teak work, Brian Champlin for his expertise with a spray gun, Aaron Wright, and Young Will for all their hard work. We got everthing done in time to make our charters this past weekend.
