Jig and Pop!

Today we had a group from New York that specializes in vertical jigging and casting popping plugs for tuna. After a long day of riding around chasing marks, we finally found some fish willing to hit the jigs. We broke off a few nicer fish and caught a handful of 50 to 70 pounders to end the day.

Great Striper Fishing

This is what stripers look like on the bottom machine. We had a great striper trip this morning, finding a limit of fish and making it back to the dock before the weather set in.

Another great day of tuna!

I was not expecting a trip today, but when my phone rang at 6:30, another boat had a problem and needed me to take his trip. We left the dock at 7:45 and, true to form , went the oppsite direction of the rest of the fleet. We caught a limit of tuna and made it back to the dock by 3:30!

Tunas and Wahoos

I know its been a while since my last report, but charters have been few and far between, so I took another trip up North to try and catch some Bluefins. I spent a week in Harwich Port MA, and caught 5 fish from 600 to 700 pounds. We finally got a couple of charters this weekend, and the fishing was excellent!! Yesterday we caught a limit of yellowfins by 11:30 and today we caught a limit along with 3 wahoos from 30- 42 pounds. The wahoo are thick! We probably had 15- 20 wahoo bites and lost a few hooks! Stripers showed up around the inlet the last few days, and fishing should get better as the week goes on.
